| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Trying to get 7 to install. I bought windows 7 in an attempt to escape from vista. But without fail it is not going down without a fight. Ive already called microsoft several times and that wasnt much help so I am now reaching out to those who may know better than I can get this done.... I managed to download the 7 and its on my desktop waiting, when i click on it it goes into unpacking it and progresses fine. When the installation box comes up, i can start the installation and then nothing happens. It will sit with "starting setup" until I cancel out of it. I left it to do its thing and was going to come back after work and needless to say 8 hours later it still is "starting setup." So, I dont know what went wrong but but I cannot install anything (adobe, flash, itunes, vista upgrades, nothing). Along with a few other things, I am done with vista. I do have a recovery disk but dont have the slightest idea how to use it. I have already backed up my photos and school work safely and put them somewhere I can get to them. I would like to use this disk to put my computer back to a place where I can install 7 and get vista out of my life so... If anyone could give me some guidance on this it would be much appreciated. |

Hi and welcome It would be easier if you burned it to dvd. then boot from the dvd and the install would go from there. ken |
