Is SP2 Installed or Installed correctly?

In system properties my operating system is listed as Vista Home Basic - Service Pack 2. However whilst looking into some general performance problems I checked the Windows Update History. I see that Vista Service pack 2 (KB 948465) failed on three occassions producing error codes 800706BE, 80004004, and 80010108 and there is no "successful" subsequent update. I have not manually updated to service pack 2.

How can I tell if Service Pack 2 is actually installed or installed correctly?

Is it sensible to download service pack 2 manually and try to install it when most of my performance problems are now solved?

Hi,

Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialogue. Type "winver" without the quotes and press enter. See if this new window mentions "Service Pack 2" or take a screenshot and post it here for us to look at.

Yes, it is sensible to have SP2. If you do not have it as an update, be sure you install it.

Hi Richard and Thanks. Winver says Version 6.0 (build 6002:Service Pack 2) Presumably its ok then whatever windows update says. Sorry if you got this twice - finger trouble relying
