windows update 0kb total 0% complete

Hi, i am trying to get my laptop to install vista sp1, however it doesn't seem to appear in windows update. So i was advised to install all other updates that currently appear in windows update. A total of 65 important updates were available, so i clicked download. However, it says: downloading 65 updates 0kb total, 0% complete. It stays like that forever. Please can someone help. Thanks

Two things, this is often caused by a Firewall. Please TEMPORARILY disable your firewall and see if this fixes the problem. Also, make sure you are running an Administrator account. Else follow these instructions by Flavius (our Windows Update expert)

1.Reset WU components in aggressive mode How do I reset Windows Update components?
2.Reset WU modules Repair & Fix Windows Updates with Fix WU Utility | The Windows Club
3.Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cmd.exe) as admin and type:

    sfc /scannow

See here for details on SFC: System Files - SFC Command
4.Run Readiness Tool Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2
even if this tool don't solve problem it create CheckSur.log file in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder

If nothing help pack all files from C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder and attach to post or upload on
