Huge problems after update

About 10:00 p.m. last night, computer went through 16 automatic updates. It took awhile, and then on reboot locked up (screen went blank, not black, but blank).

Tried another reboot with a "repair" option. This ran all night and did nothing!

Rebooted again in safe mode to do "restore". Restore would not run.

Rebooted again in normal mode to do "restore". Restore utility would open, but "Restore" would not run. Just sat there.

Now, computer is having all sorts of issues when rebooted. Most times it won't shut down properly. Mouse works 1/2 the time (pointer freezes). Internet/wi-fi doesn't work. Extremely slow booting anything up.

I'm thinking something happened during the install of updates and/or reboot.

Any assistance on how to repair w/o wiping entire computer. Would need to back-up files first.

Did you run the restore program as an administrator?

I too had a nightmare after the last set of updates which resulted in blue screens!! I too restored to a point prior to the updates.

This thread is two years old. I doubt the update they're talking about is the same one unless you've failed to update in all that time. Perhaps it would be best if you started a new thread and describe any other problems an update has caused, including system restore.
