PC had problem updateing to SP1 after Vista upgrade. Some updates failed. A suggestion was to delete update files & logs & try re-do SP1 update. Ran "System Update Readiness Tool" & re-ran SP! update. It states it was successful, but during installation & re-booting, it would not boot back to vista; not in Safe Mode. Stated error code: 0xc01a001d. Because it was a update disc from Dell; it did not have any system recovery on it. I used a recovery disc, I made Vista on my Lap Top; tried to reboot into vista, it went directly into Start Up Repair. It is attempting repairs for the last 6-hrs, with the line graph moving, left to right. When I hit, cancel, states it can not cancel the action.

How long does it run, is this excessivly long?
Should I shut down power I try to manually boot?
