Hello guys,

Recently removed a bunch of various infections/malware. I'm guessing I'm missing some .dll's associated with Windows update. Also recently installed MSE(in case its relevant).

[Problem]
Click search for updates, searches for about two seconds and then receives error {80096001}. I ran two windows update fixes, neither of which worked. Ive included the fixes Ive tried below.

Thanks for the quick response. I understand how things can get, especially if you're a tech support guy. I'm Dl'ing the system update readiness tool, I'll report back shortly.

Thanks again.

I have tried the fix 1 & 2, It did not work for me. I have tried the windows readiness tool. I get the same error with that. I have tried the sfc /scannow. And it said it found some corrupted files but could not fix them. That I sould look in this perticular log file. But it will not open for me. Any other solutions?
