Windows Updates

Hello all, I'm having trouble with Windows Update KB2556532. It has been installed over and over again in the past few days. When I go to uninstall it, it says 'there are no updates installed on this computer'! I let it update every time it needs to, so don't know how this is possible. I have downloaded Microsoft's Fix It program, but, no help and now I cannot even get any updates. Had this problem a few weeks ago with another update and was able to resolve with a system restore, but the last restore point now is the first day that this "new" update was installed. Any help is appreciated. I'm beginning to hate Vista almost as bad as I hated Windows ME! Thanks,

Hi, I tried both things that were available in the link you provided, no joy there:sarc:. The only thing I know to do now is a re-install and before I do that I'll just go to Win 7 if I'm gonna have to do a complete install. Thanks for the response. I'll keep trying until Windows 7 gets here, then I shall use this Vista disc for skeet shooting! Best regards,

Frank,
A helpful hint of installing updates:

Always instill the small ones first.
The larger files download and install one at a time.
This process has worked for me and others.

Especially if you are getting Windows 7!
