Hello jaeger1946 and welcome to the forums

This should be a nice easy one to fix.

Please download the attached file, Packs.zip, and extract this to your Desktop. You should find two folders, Manifests and Packages. Inside the Packages folder, you will find 8 files, copy and paste all of these into the following folder:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Then run the SURT again and copy and paste the CheckSUR.persist.log as before please :)

This is what I received. I tried to re-install the update and I got much farther. The update downloaded and began to install. It created a system restore point but still crapped out with a new error code. This time the code was 8024200D.

First of all, let me thank you for your help to this point.

As I tried to say in my last post, I did try to download that update

- The download is now successful (It wouldn't download before your fix)
- I receive a message that the download established a reset point
- The file begins to install but about 2/3 of the way through...
- The installation fails with error code 8024200D (which I assume is a memory location)

So, thanks to your fix, I have seen progress but update KB2698365 has still not been installed. Any other ideas?

My mistake! I had downloaded the update after the fix you provided and my download succeeded but the installation failed with the error code that I indicated but I didn't use the link you gave me. I used the Windows Update command.

When I used your link, I noticed the size of the file was different. I also noticed that the update installed.

Thank you!

Hi jaeger,

You're most welcome for the help! I'm trying to develop my knowledge on Windows Updates, so threads like these give me a great chance to practise :)

That's great news! Thanks for posting back the results. I've marked this thread as solved.
