Hello,

Whenever I am installing windows updates my laptop doesn't restart properly. The updates will install and proceed to restarting however it won't boot up on restart it will just shut down. Whenever I try to boot up afterwards it quickly shuts down. After I leave it for a while I am able to do a system restore but it means that I am unable to download the latest windows updates. These are the following updates I am trying to install:

  • Security update for Windows Vista
  • Security update for Windows Vista (KB2813430)
  • Security update for Windows Vista (KB2839229)
  • Security update for Windows Vista (KB2839894)
  • Windows Malicious Software removal tool - June 2013 (KB2845690)
  • Definition update for Windows Defender (KB915597)

These are the updates from 11 June 2013. I was wondering if someone is experiencing the same sort of problem when installing the updates. I am guessing there is an update which doesn't like a boot up file or conflicts with it.

I haven't had the time yet to install each update on its own and find out which is one causing the problem. I was hoping someone might have tried it and found a solution (a bit cheeky I know).

Appreciate any help.

Thanks for your time.
