windows vista service pack 1 problem help!!

dont know if this is right place to put this but here goes nothing...

right i have had this problem on going for many years, but i just put up with it but i have tryed absolutely everything all the tips on the internet, the problem is when i try to install sp1 on windows update it does it in like 10seconds, i check the install history its there but it hasnt done it properly, i have tryed all the methods on the web about shuting spy ware down and defraging harddrive and using the standalone manuall sp1 download doing it manually looked promasing but it got the config updates 3/3 65% and went blue screen of death so i dont know what to do any moreee.

please could some one explain simply so i can understand how to fix this problem, or even controll my computer and fix it for me would be a great help as im not very good with computer oh tho i do try lol, and i havnt got money to pay for any software or anything like this, so please can some 1 help me out please
