WinFS and Windows Vista Beta 2

Hello All @ MS,

Can someone inform me and everyone if WinFS Beta 1 and refresh is compatible
with the latest Vista Beta 2 CTP and upcoming CPP or must we use Atlas
(WinFX).

Also will the upcoming WinFS Beta 2 be compatible with the above
forementioned.

Thank You In Advance,
Richard Rothery

Re: WinFS and Windows Vista Beta 2

Hi, so would it be available for us to install WinFS of TechEd (in Boston)
onto Vista Beta 2?

And will be there any support for WinPF and WinCF?

Will be there any sample apps that work with other WinFX techs?

Thanks,
Daniel A. Kornev,

Hi Daniel,

In our next public Beta, WinFS will not officially support Vista Beta 2. We
have, however, made a significant down payment in development and test
towards Vista support. This is definitely in our upcoming plans.

Although currently there is no explicit integration with WCF and WPF in
WinFS, you could certainly write apps that leveraged all of these
technologies.

> Will be there any sample apps that work with other WinFX techs?

There is a project in incubation code named "Orange". This is an exploitive
app that demonstrates the capabilities of WinFS and WPF together. No public
date on its availability at this time.
