windows live mail and hotmail

has anyone solved the issue of hotmail in windows live mail?
I cant read them because I get error messages such as windows live mail
cannot open this message check space and try again
and even though I can send and recieve the emails there's this error of
downloading emails from the hotmail server despite that I can read, send and
recieve emails if I go online. (OS is Vista)
Very annoying
