| Vista home premium - for development? Hello! I apologize if this is the wrong forum for asking this Q - if so, please point me to the right forum. I am a developer and use software like VStudio 2005 (for developing asp .net and C# code primarily), SQL Server 2005 currently on my XP Pro home machine. Will Vista Home premium be able to support these? Or will I have to shell out the price for the Ultimate edition? (I would like the media center capabilities also, and that's why I can't go for the business edition) thanks |

| Re: Vista home premium - for development? Hello Bob, In requirements for VS2005 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/su...e/default.aspx) they don't specify any specific Vista edition. just Vista. Thus we can conclude it works fine ![]() B> Hello! B> I apologize if this is the wrong forum for asking this Q - if so, B> please B> point me to the right forum. | Re: Vista home premium - for development? AFAIK, Visual Studio 2005 should work just fine with Home Premium. I'm not sure if the full blown SQL Server will run, but it should. If not, the Express edition may. However, if you want an OS with features equivalent to Windows XP Professional, you will need Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate.
