Re: What's the correct sequence of installing WinFX stuff?

Why they suggest me to download the WinFX runtime components (Downloads
for Running WinFX Applications section) that have 3.0.3906.22 version,
albein in Vista 2 I have more latest 3.0.50727 version - according this
WinFX test page
http://www.vistabase.co.uk/welcome.p...gies/winfxtest ?

Re: What's the correct sequence of installing WinFX stuff?

Don't quite understand your question as such... that page just tells you
whether you have WinFX on your machine or not, and the version it is.

The page just says, that if you want to install a newer version of WinFX,
you need to uninstall the old ones first - you can't just upgrade because it
doesn't work. If this is the case, use the WinFX uninstaller:

Re: What's the correct sequence of installing WinFX stuff?

Which version of Runtime components is used in WinFX beta2 ? Either
3.0.3906.22 or 3.0.50727?

I'm confusing with Vista beta2 WinFX runtime components, because its
version is the newest - 3.0.50727

Seems that I don't understand this. Do I *really* need to remove the
latest version of WinFX Runtime with number 3.0.50727 that is shipped
with Vista beta2 and install previous one 3.0.3906.22 to work with
WinFX?

PS: I wonder why there is a such mess, for previous vesion it was more
clear.

Re: What's the correct sequence of installing WinFX stuff?

If you've got 3.0.50727, just carry on with the rest of the installations.
Install Visual Studio 2005 if you want - then carry on with the installation
afterwards of the Windows SDK, then "Orcas" WinFX Development Tools if you
want it, then Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for Windows Workflow Foundation
as described as I sent you earlier -

What's the correct sequence of installing WinFX stuff?

Googled, but could'n find the right description.

I wonder, what's the correct sequence of installing WinFX SDK, VisualStudio
2005 and other stuff like Office on Vista beta 2 to start working with WPF/WCF?
It was a really pain to install CTP version :-\

Am I right if suppose:
1) We don't need WinFX Runtime coz it's installed in Vista beta 2 (WinFX
Runtime: 3.0.50727) or maybe there is a new runtime version is available?
2) Install VS 2005 + SQL Express
3) Install WinFX SDK
4) Intall other stuff

?

PS: I know there are several hotfixes for WCF for example. When do I need
install them? after which point?
