| | Product Key? I am running Windows XP Home SP2 I downloaded Windows Vista Beta - no problems When I try to install Vista it asks for a product key - I entered the one on the sticker on the side of the computer - Dell OEM version - no good I ran a key finder program - which gave me a different product key - it did not work either. Any suggestions appreciated - I am sure I am missing something here TIA Bill |

| | Re: Product Key? Bill; The Product Key on the computer is for the operating system that shipped with that computer and will not work with another including Windows Vista. Check the Email you received after signing up for the Public Beta. The Product Key for Windows Vista is near the bottom of that Email. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "Bill" <smile@here.com> wrote in message news:uUV8INwjGHA.3524@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >I am running Windows XP Home SP2 > I downloaded Windows Vista Beta - no problems > When I try to install Vista it asks for a product key - I entered the one > on > the sticker on the side of the computer - Dell OEM version - no good > I ran a key finder program - which gave me a different product key - it > did > not work either. > > Any suggestions appreciated - I am sure I am missing something here > > TIA > > Bill |
