| | AutoCAD2006 and Vista Beta 2 AutoCAD installs fine, but then will not authorize its license by connecting to the Autodesk license server. Same machine running XP does that just fine. Also, could not connect to our print server, until I installed a component of MS Office 2007 beta ... the SQL server. Then I could see shares all over our network. Apparently certain needed ports are blocked in Vista Beta, and weird security settings are causing problems in installs. As a matter of fact, I could not even install the Office beta as long as IE7 was running at all. I had to download the Office Apps ... shut IE7 down .. and then I could manually install Office and register it on the web. IE7 security is causing trouble somehow. There needs to be a way to totally disable all security settings until the OS and all apps are installed and properly configured. johns |
