Webpage locks up 5-10 seconds after loaded

New Member
Just bought a new HP PC with Vista 64 bit. It's running and I7 processor with 8 GB of ram. Everything is super fast, but when I bring up a webpage, the webpage is displayed and then locks up for about 5-10 seconds as if something is running in the background on the webpage. I can still use anything else on the computer, just the website is frozen. Once it unlocks I can click elsewhere. I'm using Internet Explorer 8. If anyone can help out, let me know...

Hey mgkreider79,

Two suggestions, neither definite:

Call up Task Manager before you run IE, then when it freezes you can see if anything is in fact running in the background. If you know how to use Process Manager (look on the free software list) all the better.

Try Firefox or another good internet program. If the problem goes away, it may well be your cheapest fix in terms of time spent on the problem.

Does it ever give you an error about a script running on a page taking too long? Try another browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari) and try the same webpages.

Try running Mozilla Firefox instead. I prefer it more than Internet Explorer.
