hi guys, been having trouble with internet explorer 8 for a while now on vista x64 ultimate, for some strange reason its started to lose log in sessions, eg if i click stay signed in on facebook or ebay it will stay logged on for a while but after a few hors its asking me to log back in

its the same story on google too when i customize the search options, these randomly dissapear, ive tried the usual disabling add ons and resetting to defaults but its still doing it,

anyone else having this problem?

cheers

You've probably got it to delete your browsing history. Go to internet options and uncheck delete browsing history on exit.

1. Does this happen with Firefox or just IE?

2. open a cmd prompt and ping facebook

c: ping "www.facebook.com" (without the quotes)

let me know what the response is.

3. You don't list any specs (please enter complete specs, lower left corner).
I strongly suggest updating your network card. Also, are you using a wireless router?

hi, many appologies for the lack of details,

im using a dlink router with 3 other pcs and a mac connected to it (all wired no wireless involved) the other 1s are fine with no issues,

its only doing it with internet explorer 8, all the drivers are up to date

i have since read elsewhere that it could be windows live id sign in helper... IE8 on Windows 7 (x86 and x64) losing login information (cookies)

all drivers are bang up to date,

really starting to frustrate me!

What if you bring it up in safe mode? Will it lose connection then?

Ok... I know I'm digging up an old thread, but, I've been using Vista64 a while now and this is getting annoying... Only happens in IE, not FireFox and it seems to happen randomly... :sa: Sometimes not for days, other times, several an hour... I don't have it set to delete anything on close or anything like that and all my drivers are up to date... I'm fairly savvy when it comes to PC's in general and this is rather new to me...

For the record, my specs:
