Hello! I know that some cookies are useful, harmless and so on but I want to erase the dangerous ones. How to do that? Firefox doesn't help me much, most of my cookies still remain on my comp.

tnx for any suggestion and help,

Do as ilikefree says, however this will only stop further cookies from entering your computer.

Download and run CCleaner:

CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

This will also clean up the temporary files that have been gathered by your computer.

Not sure if Windows 7 cookie removal is the same as Vista (which is what I have) but it should be the same or similiar. In Vista you would open Tools, Internet Options, and on that 1st page, select Browsing History, Settings. Then, under Temporary Internet Files select View Files. When your Temporary Internet Files open up, (in Vista), the cookies are intermingled with the TIFs, so you just manually delete them. Actually, if you decide to go ahead and delete all of your cookies, (and after seeing richc46's next post, I'm questioning whether this is such a good idea!) - you can make things a lot easier just by deleting everything in that folder.

One great way to delete all temporary internet files and more are three programs:

1. CCleaner (as Tom said)

2. Advanced System Care Free

3. Glary Utilities

All of these programs are free and are available at download.com.

I don't think too. The only program that I've seen for cleaning of the DOM entries is
Mil Shield. And it supports selective cleaning of DOM cookies, poopsicle can keep the cookies of the trusted sites.

The Firefox add on will let you select all cookies even the protected ones that adobe put on. It won't delete the cookies you want to save with CCleaner they will be safe. The cookies it deletes you probably didn't even know you had. They are mostly there for advertising.

tnx all :)

I've noticed that if you delete all cookies, after that you have to enter your log-in details again.

Flash cookies and DOM cookies? What are they?

Mil Shield and CCleaner keep some cookies? Right?

My Computer

If you tell Firefox or CCleaner to keep cookies they will not be deleted and you should not have to re-enter your passwords You will have a setting checked that you need to clear if you are needing to put passwords in what are DOM and LSO super cookies - Google Search Try this link and it may explain it better for you. Basically they are cookies that people like Google and Adobe put on you computer to track where you go (what sites) so they can target advertising at you with a better chance of the adverts being of interest to you based on your surfing. Some will say protected some won't. All can be safely deleted. I delete all mine and use CCleaner and never have to enter any passwords to sites I have been to before. Hope this helps

In CCleaner go to options, cookies and drag the cookies you want to keep to the right side box. That will save them for you

You can figure out which is which as ilikefree suggested. The way I handle it is I set the browser to keep cookies, but set CCleaner to delete them all. I use LastPass to make logging in again easier after a CCleaner clean. Plus it has the benefit you can sync passwords across several browsers on various machines.

LastPass... does it clean well?

When you go to a site all sites that advertise or link to that site will try to give you their cookie as well as the site you actually go to

Last pass isn't a cleaner (well as far as I know), it is a password storage application.
