Hello ls6camaro,
Taking into account that you have already confirmed the electrical connections and everything is seated properly, and that this is only affecting your ability to access the internet, my thoughts run towards the network driver or the network settings . If the driver is responding and shows " working " in device manager, i would think that your internet configuration is not set properly, it should in fact auto config for you. Can you double check these and post back results so that i or someone can guide you further ?

Lets try to get IE working as it should first. Do the reset in tools>internet options>advanced tab> reset settings, you see this at bottom of that screen.
Post back please .

My thinking was that the program was corrupted somehow, if it does not fail you , then reinstall the other browsers as well and lets hope this works. Seems strange the the browsers would fail, as in , all of them . Post back if you need to.

well they all failed and then when i restarted my comp it wanted to run a disk check and found numerous invalid security certificates so i did a clean install of teh operating system agian and loaded the drivers iam thinking maybe the browsers failed as a result of teh operating system being corrupt what you think?

Well, that is always a possibility, i was , of course, going on the assumption you had a good OS installed. Good catch with the chkdsk . When you get it all reconfigured , just use the one IE browser , with all the required updates of course. If the IE works as it should , then install other browsers as desired. Post back with your progress so others may learn.

There was a guy I worked with, I almost named him "reinstall." Because every time I asked him about a problem, 4 words in he'd say "Reinstall .. that will fix it." He was right a high percentage of the time. :)
