Hi All
IE9 ERRORS WITH sfc /scannow or IE 9 itself I do not know how to think otherwise ,
I have had 3 perfect installs of Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit Dell OEM with all updates to service pack 2
Not a failed update at all , and sfc /scannow will run and come out with no errors at all
BUT as soon as i install IE 9 sfc will say it has found errors and has fixed them .
but that is not the problem no matter how many time i run sfc it still says it found errors and fixed them , i have did 3 reinstalls one from the Dell factory recovery partition one from
a set of 5 recovery DVDs that came from Dell and one from the Windows Ultimate 64 bit OEM service pack 1 DVD
that came from Dell , all of these installs come up clean after i run SFC but like i said if i install
IE 9 it will not run SFC right it will not run a clean SFC at all ?
So can someone tell me what is going on with IE 9 ?
OH by the way i can remove IE 9 and do a SFC /SCANNOW it starts working again with no errors this is
what i can not understand !!
This is on my Dell XPS 430 Desktop computer on a 750 gig Seagate hard drive !
Now on the same computer with the same size and make Seagate hard drive with Windows 7 64 bit SP1 Retail
IE 9 will install and work just fine with SFC no errors comes up!!
IE 9 when it is installed it works with no problems on Vista and Win 7 it just will not let SFC WORK with Vista !
Does anyone have a fix for IE 9 on Vista Ultimate 64 bit or know where i can get some help for this error
or {is it just a BUG with no fix}
Thanks for your Help !
OH if this is not the right place to post this Please move to where it should be posted ! MSE is my AV software .

You may want to troubleshoot IE

You may want to pay particular attention to clearing IE of all addons

If you still have problems, you may want to test one of the many other fine browsers, Firefox comes to mind. Others like Chrome.

Hi Richc64
Thanks for your input the problem is not with IE 9 itself it works with no problems with Vista 64 bit
with or without any addons!
The problem is it does not let SFC run right after it is installed !
I know i could use one of the other browsers , i could dump Vista and not use it at all !
But that is not the point of this thread i would like to get Vista 64 bit with IE 9 and SFC working on this computer
I have other computers setup the same way they work with Vista Ulitmate 64 bit , IE9 and SFC works after IE 9 is installed !
I started with Vista Ultimate 64 bit when it was still in the Beta stages ,
i know Vista Ultimate 64 bit like the back of my hand with all of the in and out of using it .
I have had this problem when IE 9 was sent out to the people to install and use , i have read all of the tuts and problem post people
have posted .
I have even tryed using other GPUs thinking it may have been the problem .
The only thing i haven't did was post a readout of a CBS Log i do not know how to read it so i may post it here and see if someone
can find the files that SFC should have fixed or tryed to fix !
Again thanks for your Help .

Re: IE 9 bug !!! Solved

Hi All
I have solved my problem with IE 9 and sfc /scannow !
What i had to do was remove IE 9 then remove IE 8
and go back to IE 7 then ran sfc / scannow it came up with no
errors , then i let windows updates install IE 9 after my computer
rebooted i ran sfc /scannow it came up with no errors !
So i have Vista Ultimate 64 Bit , IE 9 and sfc /scannow working
right on my computer now .
I am a very happy man now !!!
