Re: Email Difficulties? Some Helpful Advice.

I am using Windows Mail as my email program. I have encountered a problem. I cannot delete files from my INBOX, nor can I receive any new emails. Whenever I click on one to delete, I get the message "An unknown error has occurred." I have tried everything including using the boot disk and running memory diagnostics and nothing seems to fix the problem. Can someone assist with this problem?
Thank you,
Trish

Welcome Trish
I have removed your last name and email address from your post. In today's world it is not prudent to put that information in a public forum.
Now to your qusestion.
If you do not have the most recent windows mail, update now.

Rich told me to make sure I have the most recent Windows Mail update. Where do I go to find this? My PC has been set to automatically update. Would this not have automatically installed most recent Windows Mail update?
Thank you,
Trish

Hi,
“Unknown error" is usually caused by interference from an antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?

As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.

Also, adding a link which can fix Most Problems with Windows mail: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/62560-windows-mail-problems.html

Please post back with the results.
