Solved re-direct virus

hi everyone

when i tried to open web page i was being directed to a completely different
web page, i think this is called a redirect virus. When I tried to open MSE to
scan for any viruses it would flash red and then disappear, i have spoken to ilikefree, and he told me to try a scan with malware bytes, i did this and no infection was found. I took MSE out and replaced it with the free AVG antivirus, this found
an unknown infection which i think could have been this re-direct virus because
now my web pages are not being re-directed.
Can someone please tell me why MSE would not open and should, now that my browser is O.K take out
AVG and replace with a new MSE or is this AVG a good enough antivirus software
to leave in.

hi everyone

I was a bit disappointed to only get one reply for my question about the
re-direct virus.
I have since solved the problem
