Solved Snipping Tool and Thunderbird Email Program

I have made a switch from Windows Mail (Vista) to Thunderbird.

I use Thunderbird as my default email program.
When I use Vista's Snipping Tool and do a Send To, the Windows Mail program opens, and I can send it only from it.

Is there a way so that when using Snipping Tool, that I can open and send via Thunderbird?

I have played with Vista "Default Programs" feature, and cannot get it to do what I want.
When I change the settings for the defaults for "Set Program" for Thunderbird Mozilla, re settings: Mail to Protocol, and E-mail link, nothing happens. Neither email programs load with what I have snipped.

Thanks in advance.

Did anyone try it? Is it safe to install?
Advice is appreciated.

That's an ad. Instead of "Send To" why don't you just "Save As," then you could attach the file to an email. If it's something online, you could send them a link instead. I don't think I ever emailed a screenshot to anyone, although I've certainly posted screenshots at forums.

Thanks,
I have my "content type" mailto set to "Use Thunderbird" and it doesn't make any difference. Windows Mail always pops up still. And in Vista I have the default program mailto set to Thunderbird. Windows Mail always pops up still.

Thanks...but I am cautious editing it as mine says:

"C:\PROGRA~2\MICROS~1\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE" -c IPM.Note /m "%1"

would it be: "C:\PROGRA~2\MICROS~1\Thunderbird.exe -c IPM.Note /m "%1"

looks like you are not in regedit
try start search box type regedit right click and run as administrator then go to the key I said and edit it
If you did the system restore you have nothing to lose

I was in Regedit...and did what was suggested to no avail.

I found this:

I was wondering if I edited the above, to Thunderbird.exe too.

Thanks for your kind patience.

Problem definitely solved:

First I uninstalled Outlook from my Office program.
Second, I edited to this in my Registry, and it did not work until a reboot of the computer.

That's great news. To be honest it was just a guess on my part. That is why I always recommend making a restore point first.
