Google Chrome

Good morning,

Can anyone tell me please where I can still download Google Chrome for Windows Vista 32-bit please.
I am aware that Vista is no longer eligable for Google Chrome updates.

Thanks in advance.

Revised Answer (April 2018)

Chrome ended support for Vista in April 2016 (see Google Chrome Blog: Updates to Chrome platform support), meaning that no version more recent than Chrome 49 could be used on Vista. (At the time of revision, the current version is Chrome 66 and rising.) It would be irresponsible of me not to point out that nobody recommends using an outdated browser. In my original reply, I recommended Firefox or Pale Moon because those browsers still supported Vista; but the day is rapidly approaching when no browser will support Vista (see Update on Firefox support for Windows XP and Vista – Future Releases and Basilisk and Windows Vista - Pale Moon forum). If you are using an old Vista PC primarily for browsing the internet, then an inexpensive Chromebook might be a suitable replacement.

Then again, this is Vista Forums, so I will attempt to answer your question. The very last version that supported Vista was Chrome 49.0.2623.112, and download links can still be found, at least for the 32-bit version. For example, at Google Chrome 49.0.2623.112 Stable - Webroot Community the 32-bit link still works at this time, but the 64-bit link returns a 404 error at Google. (Forum rule no. 11 prevents me from posting a direct download link here.) For 64 bit, I don't have a better suggestion than the final reply at Google Groups, which involves a third party and a slightly earlier version of Chrome 49.

How do I update Flash Player in Chrome?

That is a very good question. There is no simple way, because this is something that Google takes care of (unless you're running an outdated version of Chrome on an unsupported operating system like Vista). Computer-savvy Chrome users running Vista might be a contradiction in terms; but if they exist, the "Correct Answer" at How to Install Flash in Vista w/ Chrome Browser?? | Adobe Community looks very promising.

I find the same. Chrome 49 while it works (and I have the installer, if you'd like), Firefox 52ESR has been my browser of choice so far.

Kind Regards,

Note that there is a FireFox Quantum which I installed last week. I don't know if it's later than FireFox Extended. I'm also using Opera and good old IE 9, when it is supported by websites I frequent.

Firefox Quantum is the 'new' Firefox with a lot of code improvement, including the move to using WebExtensions API for addson (versus the old XUL addons). it is much newer than ESR< which is currently at v52, whereas Quantum is 57. But Quantum also breaks the old addons that are XUL based....
