Are you upgrading to 7?

Is everyone eager to get windows 7? For some reason im content with vista as ive had loads of fun tweaking & messing around with it also had no major trouble so far.

I definatly like the look of windows 7 but im not sure if it will be such an interesting leap like xp x86 to vista x64 was for me.

Yes I'm eager to get it but I'm afraid it wont happen as I've only just got Vista so there's no way I can afford to get Windows 7 when it comes out, it will be a few years before I can.

I like Vista and so far haven't had any problems and to be honest I still haven't fully explored it so while I wait until the time I can get 7 I've still got lots to learn with Vista ;)

I probably will, price dependant though. If it costs $150+ I won't.

I will be getting 7 when it comes out and I'm a Vista lover. 7 is like Vista and all the stuff I would do to make it better and some stuff I would have never thought to do. I might even use the release to build a new system. Hurry Microsoft...hurry!

Same here. I shall probably be getting the upgrade version as it is much cheaper, and clean install using the double installation method of installing it and then upgrading it directly over itself. True, this means it takes a bit longer to install, but it does save about £100 or so. I shall be keeping with the multi-boot system.

If I knew the Win7 would be out before the beta expired.....I would switch now. Just buy it and transfer my data. I would like to use Win7 on my machine with a decent (but odd 3 core) processor and 4GB of ram. But then I'd want it even more!

The latest expected date for the release of Windows 7 is March 2010, (end of first quarter), The version of the OS I am Currently running expires on 1st March 2010, so I feel fairly confident that there will be a version of windows 7 available when I have to upgrade.

That said, I also have a copy of vista running as a full fallback just in case :D

How do I get a copy of Win7 that is good 'till March 1 2010? I would love to have that. I have heard all beta versions expire August 1. I will keep reading. I don't think you would joke with us Barman.

The full Release candidate is due to be made publicly available by the end of May, It is expected that this will have a validity date of March 2010, There is also unconfirmed talk of a second RC but I believe this to be an error in understanding of the terms used within MS.

In addition to the Official Microsoft releases there are of course several "Un-official leaked" builds. Due to the release mechanism of these builds It is against our forum rules to discuss them here, but a quick Google search should provide the latest news.

Talking of news the latest day to day status of Windows 7 is available at our Sister site Windows 7 Forums
