System Restore Blue Screen Help

Today while doing a system restore i got some kind of blue screen. system restore was at the point where it says configuring your system and stuff and the back is the same as the windows welcome screen. But then all of a sudden it went to some kind of blue screen. I barely got to read it before the computer restarted and once I got to the desktop I got a message saying windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. How serious is this? Please help because ive only had this computer for alittle over a year and I've just about had it with it.

Can you safe boot? (F8 repeatedly while rebooting). If so go into c:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file and upload it to us to look at. If its not in minidump do a search for *.dmp.

honestly im not really sure how to do that. im afraid i'll just mess my computer up more. its just gone out of warranty over a month ago. this computer has always been problems since i got it. the first day i had to reinstall vista and then it kept restarting itself and found out my hard drive was failing only after months of owning it then the second hard drive would freeze go to a blue screen they when it tried rebooting itself it said it couldnt detect a hard drive. so i got a third hard drive from dell which is the one im using now. i wish i could return it or get my money back and just buy a new computer.

Reboot your pc, and keep on pressing F8 till the menu appears and choose safe mode. As Ken said, then upload the .dmp files or take a look at the guide in my sig. Is this a dell laptop or pc and what are the specs? You can use Belarc Advisor to pull up a report.

The BugCheck_Str references a critical termination of wininit.exe. Since its a crucial system file, you probably have a virus infection unless you deliberately terminated wininit.exe.

Download a antivirus rescue disc from here: http://www.free-av.com/en/tools/12/avira_antivir_rescue_system.html

burn it to disc and then reboot with the disc in the drive. Then scan your pc, and that should allow you to boot into safe mode and run a thorough scan.

how can i have a virus infection? avg, windows defender, and the free live safety live one care scanner report nothing found.

As above, no app can catch anything. Try the boot disk. Something crashed a crucial process.
