Unmountable Boot Volume/Blue Screen Simplified

I am aware the blue screen of death post has probably been up here a few times but I haven't found any real solutions as of yet. Maybe somebody has an answer to this problem.

My steps have been:

1. From the Windows Error recovery screen, I click Start Windows Normally and it takes me to unmountable boot volume error screen. Reboot.
2. From the same screen, I then choose Launch Startup Repair. The screen flashes like it wants to continue but reverts back to this screen. No matter how many times I click Repair - or even when I wait for the countdown to choose it itself - it always flashes and returns to this screen. Reboot.
3. I put in the Vista OS disc and click "any button" to boot from CD/DVD. Windows loads files, then remains blank. The disc says it is used to reinstall the OS. Is this also the recovery tool CD people are talking about?

Any suggestions? Thanks much.

It is most likely that there are serious problems with your hard drive.
What kind of Vista OS disk do you have? Who is the manufacturer of your system?

Try this to test your hard drive: HD Diagnostic

This bsod shows that the HDD is gone bad. Do a clean install to see if it helps. Most likely, your HDD is gone bad.

I couldn't test the hard drive because the Western Digital download could not be read from my computer. (I tried multiple options and two different burning programs.)

I am under the impression I need to perform a clean sweep. Is there any way to make this hard drive a slave so as to transfer all my files to my external hard drive? Or do I have to accept the inevitable and lose all of it?

Could anyone help? I think I am having the same problem. In my case my desktop doesn't boot up properly because it stalls at "memory runs at dual channel interleaved" and at Boot from CD/DVD it stalls again. Also I've tried the seatools diagnostic and it boots up saying device not found. The seatools stalls saying "Scanning for devices on Intel ICH7..." I have tried using the startup repair and nothing really happens. Also I've tried Ubuntu and when it stops saying that it gives up.
