"Your computer was unable to start"

Hello,
My parents had recently packaged my computer in a box to move to another place. (Last time they packaged it, a dinosaur HP computer had a PSU failure...) Anyways, once we moved into the house, I set up my desktop and once I boot it up I came across Start Up Repair, saying my computer was unable to start. Would there be any fixes to this?
I own nothing of a Vista boot CD, a Linux/Ubuntu CD or any other boot items. I have not downloaded any malicious software nor have I gotten a virus.

EDIT: I have tried to do a System Restore, and it came up with this:
The disk Partition_1(C:) has errors.
Windows has detected file system corruption on Partition_1(C:). You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored.
EDIT2: Now when I try to boot, it just says BOOTMGR cannot start. Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart. (Or something like that.

In Startup Repair select the Command Prompt option.

Type "chkdsk /r" (without the quotes) and press Enter
If it asks to reboot, tell it OK and let it reboot.
chkdsk /r will run and you'll see the results on the screen.

If that doesn't fix it, then try this:
I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)

Thanks for the reply, but the problem is that whenever I turn my computer on, it displays "BOOTMGR is missing. Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart" When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL, it just reshows that error message. No luck there.

I'm leaning towards getting my hard drive replaced and installing a fresh copy of Windows.
If this is fine, would anyone care to guide me through this..?
Also, how would I be able to recover my data on my seemingly corrupt disk?

Thanks again.
