black screen with curser

the other night i was on the internet and got the blue screen of death... so i restarted the comp and it told me there was no hd. i pulled out the drive made sure there was no dust and put it back in making sure it was tight. again no disk so i said screw it and walked away yesterday i started the comp back up and got to the screen where theres the loading bar then it goes to a black screen with a curser (not blinking) that i can move (even with the touch pad and i have that disabled) i havent downloaded anything lately i know theres no viruses and the website i was on is a forum ive used for 2 years. i googled the problem and everyone was saying either ctrl+alt+del (nothing comes up) sticky keys (nothing comes up) safe mode (black screen) safe mode with cmd prmt (black screen) wipe the drive (im only doing this if i absoutly have to id rather not loose my data)

please help me out here guys
