Hi

I'm having a problem statrting up my PC, it refuses to start in normal or safe mode (it simply restarts after it gets to the crcdisk.sys)

Having found the Vista recovery disc that came with the Medion PC i've loaded it in and booted via the CD, it goes through the 'windows is loading files' screen (with the white bar) and the microsoft corporation screen (with the green scrolling bar) then automatically goes to BSOD which says:

*** STOP: 0X0000C1F5 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

It just stalls on this screen so i can't even get into the recovery screen

I think i'm right in saying that i can't even get a dump file as i can't log in

System details:

- 32-bit (i believe although not 100% sure - it is the original installed OS on the system - OEM - PC is 4 years old - OS is from new, so 4 years old

Hopefully you guys can help me as i've run out of ideas. :)

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests (located at this link: Hardware Diags ). They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link) - Test ALL of the hard drives.

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Free Online AntiMalware Resources (read the details at the link)
There are also free, bootable antivirus disks at this link: Free Online AntiMalware Resources - Bootable Disks
I believe that the STOP 0xC1F5 error is a separate issue. Here's a link to a description of the error and some fixes for Vista: BSOD Index - STOP 0xC1F5
