TSSTCorp CDDVDW TS-L632H ATA Driver problem error code 19

Hi

I am wondering if anyone can help me, I have this error on my cd/dvd driver & I am not sure how to sort it: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I am quite new to this, I have uninstalled the driver & searched for new drivers but it just tells me that it hasn't installed it properly.

If I put a CD in it starts to read it then stops & nothing happens. I have searched the net & tried to find a solution myself but nothing as yet.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me, but the simpler the better please.

Thanks a lot

K

Hi Keswick,

Welcome to the forum

There are a lot of problems with this drive

Is your laptop still under warranty? If so take it back to the dealer

It's true there are a lot of problems with this drive but untill now I can't see any reason he should take it back to the dealer.Error 19 is mostly accidents repearable

Official MS link:You can no longer access the CD drive or the DVD drive, or you receive an error message after you remove a CD recording program or a DVD recording program in Windows XP: "error code 31"

i have had a c19 twice now every time you shut down uninstall the driver each time you start you will get an error "could not install software correctly code 19"
if you keep uninstalling adn allow it to re-install each time evetually it will install ok.
the first time it was about 15 restarts and about the same the second time.
