Please Help! About to blow up my beautiful comp!

I honestly don't know where to begin. I have been building computers for years and have never had so many problems. I build this system about 4 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. I keep leaning towards a serious graphics card issue but really need someone who knows more then me to help. So here goes...

I can not get to my desktop no matter what I try. Safe Mode doesnt work, booting from CD doesnt work, trying to boot from backup drive with XP on it doesnt work. I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit on my main drive. I have gotten multiple BSOD with everything from "Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area" to "IRQ_Not_Less_Or_Equal" and a new one this morning where it didnt say specifically but it listed three files "acp1.sys", "sacdrv.sys" twice. The stop error is:

0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF98000275007, 0xFFFFF98000034A18, 0xFFFFF980000343F0)

It mentions memory options such as chaching and shadowing also. I have my full system listed in my prifle but if needed I can type it all out here. The other stop error for Page Not Equal is:

0x00000050 (0xFFFFF80053C397121, 0x000000000000, 0x0000000000000005)

Now I have had problems since I have built it basically with what seemed to be driver issues. I finally got an update from Windows saying they had a new power managment system for my motherboard that needed installed to fix my issue. This worked wonderfully for about 3 weeks. Now I have BSOD non stop and can not get to my desktop what so ever. Any and all help would be appreciated. I am on my last nerve and moments from doing something I never thought I would and paying someone to fix it for me. If you can help I appreciate it and sorry if these problems have been posted before, I have looked all over but it seems that most people with similar issues can still get to the memory dump which I can not. Thanks in advance.

Ben

Quick note as you look at my profile for my system. I have tried and failed at starting my computer without the XFX card in the system. The motherboard has an intergrated video accelerator that works with Nvidia systems. I get video when starting up but still get the same problems. I make note of this due to the fact that I think its the core issue in the whole thing... I just don't know how to fix it. Thanks again.

what timings do you have your ram set to?

i have a phenom2 with 8gigs of 1066 (rated) ram. when i set my timings to 1066, i bsod every single startup, most of the bsod happening right when the microsoft logo and scrolling bar appear (vista). matter of fact, i could never get my ram to run at 1066mhz--not with 2 or 4 gigs installed. i know yours is the first gen phenom, but see if setting your back your ram to 800 or 533 and see if that helps.

I've never tried to dial back RAM before... sounds like a crap deal if thats the issue. Sucks that for no reason I have to get less performance out of my RAM. I will tool around and see if I can figure it out in my BIOS, Thanks for advice.

I thought OCZ RAM was a piece of crap because I couldn't get my 680i board to make it work, closest I got was 1048 so, when I built this rig I went with Corsair Dominator 1066 and a 780i board. I cold bore you to death but there is no need... I am running it at 1048 as well ;)

Suffice to say, I have stopped trusting what Mfrs say or, at the very least, not believe 100% of what I read.

from all that i have heard, "nobody can really tell the difference between 1066mhz and 800mhz." whether that is true or not, i'll never know as i have never been able to get mine to run at 1066 anyway. i have corsair memory in mine and when i went to the corsair forums, the moderator stated that in a motherboard with 4 slots and all populated with 2 gig modules (8gigs total), you will have to run the ram at 800mhz--at least. all i know is with my board, i was never able to get my system to run with any stability using ram settings at 1066 & epp--even with 2 or 4 gigs. with 8 gigs running at 800mhz it is very stable.

when i did try to set the system to 1066 and epp, one of two things would happen: it would bsod during start up, or it would start and two to three minutes after logging in, it would bsod.

also, i just looked at the system specs for AstaLaVista and the ram that's listed is Dominator PC2-8500C5D--mine is the PC2-8500C5. i bring this up because AstaLaVista even stated that the ram wouldn't get to 1066 either. try setting yours to 800mhz as a start and see if you can start up.

Well I set it to 800 and got the exact same result. It shows a startup screen saying what my video card is, goes to my ASUS BIOS load screen and then goes to a screen asking which mode I want to start up in (none of which will load) becaues it says I didn't shut down properly and no matter which option I choose it goes to load I get a quick BSOD flash and the computer restarts back to the beggining. I don't think I have ever been this frusterated before. Thanks for the advice but no go. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.

Ben

my main drive is a SATA and my backup is an IDE, they are set to IDE mode I think. I have a feeling its a driver load failure but I dont know how to get to where to check it.

Take all the sticks of ram out except for one, flush your Bios by going back to Default and clear your Cmos. Make sure you Enable the ASUS loading screen, otherwise, it will take you directly to the message and the bsod.. Save & Exit

When booting starts, notice if it reads the ram at 800Mhz or 1066mhz, go back into the bios and check that everything reads ok, set your Ram timings and Volts to Mfr specs for your Ram... Save & Exit

Repeat the process and check, once your inside the bios, check that the timimgs stuck and that the volts have changed to where it needs to be... Save & Exit but this time, shutdown the pc as soon as it boots up.

Install the rest of the sticks of Ram, close it down and crank it up one more time... repeat process above, once in the bios, check again, save and exit... pray to God like you have never prayed before ;) :D

Let us know
