Bad Pool Caller BSoD - help

Hi,
I recently bought a new video card for my computer because my old one died. I removed the old driver, then restarted and got a BSoD before completing the startup. I'm able to boot in Safe Mode, but I can't get an internet connection (don't know why) and it's required to install the new card's driver. Is the driver the issue or something else? Here's the error message:
BAD_POOL_CALLER_
STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000007, 0x0000113D, 0x 0000006C, 0x985591D8)
I'm running Vista Home 32bit by the way. Thanks.

Well first things first. The reason you can't connect to the internet in safe mode is because safe mode has no networking capabilities.

Secondly. Before you pulled the old video card out, did you uninstall its driver > power down the machine > pull the video card off the mother board > install the new video card > boot into safe mode and install the driver?

Or what paths did you follow?
