sd card slot....drive does not exist anymore

The drive for the sd card slot has disappeared and obviously isn't able to import photos anymore. I've downloaded the card reader drive from Acer.....and still nothing. My C drive is showing it's almost full, could this have anything to do with it? My system is obviously fairly slow, what can I do to get the sd drive back again and also boost the performance and clean up my pc? Thanks for your help.:zip:

actually no, I took them all off recently and put them on disk. I can't find anything else that I should be getting rid of. To me...it seems like something is always updating, downloading etc. If it's not Vista, it's Trend Micro, Adobe etc.

To get the card reader to work again, try doing a power-cycle. I don't know if you have resolved your issue yet, but if not, a power-cycle can be done by disconnecting the power cable and all other power sources from the computer, and pressing and holding down the power button for 90 seconds. This discharges any remaining static electricity in your computer, which can actually stop the card-reader from working ( I see this all the time at work )
