Solved Driver Power State Failure

Hi
I've been getting this BS error for quite a while now and it is becoming more frequent so I've decided to take action. I have no idea what´s causing it but it happens when I try to put my laptop into hibernate - sometimes it happens when the laptop is idle. The Vista report (below) tells me that there is a solution available which is great but it doesn't tell me what that is. I have no idea what the 3 files mentioned are or how to find them. I have run CHKDSK but it didn't find any issues though maybe I missed something. I have also updated all my drivers from Device Manager but it tells me that everything is up to date.
I have the date from the first shutdown. Is there anyway from that that I can see what was installed on that date that may be causing the problem? There is nothing close to that date that I can see in Control Panel.
My laptop is an ASUS M51Sn running off Vista x32 which was preinstalled and is about 3 years old. I have attached the files as per the BSOD guide.

Thanks in advance

Okay, Thanks for that. I've downloaded the new driver, though not from the website you suggested. I got it from the Asus website after some searching. I only downloaded one as they both seem like the same driver, is that possible? So far I've had no issues but it's early days.
This may be the cause of another problem I've been having which is that my web cam light comes on when I'm not using it and and the smartlog feature keeps running after I've logged on. Asus are telling me to do a System Restore which I'm reluctant to do. I'll see how this fix goes first.

Hi,

That sounds like good news. I didn't go to the ASUS website, Sorry, perhaps I should have!

When you are satisfied all is OK. Please click on the Red Triangle (Top right), type & send "solved" & that will get the thread marked as solved.

Unfortunatley this hasn't solved the problem as I've had 2 more BS errors since. Any other suggestions out there? Does anybody know of any good driver scanners that can be trusted and complete a thorough scan.
Thanks

Hi,

I would recommend this version of the update software: -

Driver Detective | Driver Update Software | Free Download

Code:
Only to find the problem driver & not for a general update of yuor current
& working drivers.

The software could find updated drivers for a working system but they might
not be fully compatible. i.e. they are for general use & not for specific
systems such as HP, Compaq etc. etc.

So please use this recommendation wisely & for the above reasons. OK?

Thanks for all the help. However I ended up doing a system recovery to partition one. I had a few other issues as well such as adware and this has solved these problems. No failures in about 10 cycles so it looks as though it's resolved.
