Civilization 4 and Vista

I installed this one night a week after I installed Vista Beta 2 and got fed up with TV. I hadnt played it since the move to Vista.

I was seriously impressed.

Not only does it load better and run smoother under Vista x64 but I can play larger player maps with a full complement of players and it still doesnt fall over. It did in XP.

The advisor screens do funny things though in relation to the rendering, which I assume is a result of Aero (It didnt turn off by default and I havent disabled it for this game) but other than that considering its a 32bit application it runs great.

The Internet multiplayer foyer has severe rendering problems but you get use to it and it seems to multiplay well over the net.

Hopefully the makers will 64bit it later and make it more Aero compatible.

I love it when you get a new OS thats still in Beta, better than the last and your favourite game runs better on it.
