installing sims complete collection

i'm having troubles installing my sims one complete collection. i know it's possible, as i've searched other forums (such as sims help sites) but i can't figure out how to actually do it.

a little background info, set up is fine until i get to the 7% marker, and the "textures" bit. i get the following message --

what does this mean and how can i fix/get around it, if at all?

i have windows vista home basic, an emachine that's not even four months old (from date of purchase) i've got plenty of RAM (2GB) and space (101GB) and i'm fully updated on all of my drivers.

any and all help is appreciated.

That is saying that the cab file is corrupt, try cleaning the disc and the lens of the drive and try it again.

unfortunately, this didn't work.

anything more that you, or anyone else can think of?

Do you have another cd drive you could use it could be a read error caused by too much vibration.
