~Hey Wellz basically the issue is i use a controller for certain games on Vista (its called Logitech Rumblepad 2..if anything you could google it)...i have it successfully installed on Vista yet when i attempt to select it in Doom Collectors Edition (DCE) it shows that the joystick selection area is grayed out.....

I was wondering if i need to install any other sort of 3rd party s/w or something so that it would recognize the installed controller....of any other sort of info that would help...lol...

NOTE: When i had previously used Windows XP, Doom Collectors Edition's joystick selection area allowed me to use the controller (it was not grayed out)....Vista already had the dplay.dll issue with DCE, maybe another dll is needed for the controller or something? ~

I know this thread is old but for all other users with this issue here's a solution. You also have to copy the dinput.dll file from the directx folder the same way you do with the Dplay.dll file for the controller in doom collector's edition to work on Vista or Windows 7.You can find both files in the directx folder that comes on the cd with doom collector's edition.
