Hello and thank you in advance for your time and input.

Ok so here is the deal, i had to do this once before but lost the steps i had written down to install correctly for vista.

I do remember there was a line in the registry i had to edit and a few other things. I hope someone that reads this will know what line it is and can give me the path once more, i picked it up off another help fourm but alas.....it was on my notes. I am runnng vista 64, all specs/drivers are compatiable for the game as i have had it on here once before.

Firstly, i need a tip or two on how to uninstall, when i attemt to uninstall i get the msg,

>SETUP.DLL\SETUPDLL.Cpp(469)
PAPP:BATTLEFIELD2 (TM)
PVENDOR: DICE
PGUID:04848915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7DE6A7B
$10.50.0.125
WINDOWS SERVICE PACK 2 (6002) IE 8.0.6001.18865

Please help!

Hello idontgno,
Is this what you are looking for ?, if not, can you be more specific as to the problem you are having.

1. Go to Start>Run and type in "regedit" (without the quotes).
2. Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2
3. Right click on the right hand window and go to New>String Value
4. Type in 'InstallDir' (without quotes) for the string name.
5. Double click it. For the 'Value data', enter wherever you installed Battlefield 2 (eg. C:\GAMES\Battlefield 2). Note, DON'T put a backslash (\) at the end.

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

Hey i have a good fix most people dont know about involving installation issues with Battlefield2. Usualy there are problems with the game not un-installing correctly and the simple (sortof simple) fix is to delete everything manualy including reg edit deletion. HOWEVER. soemtimes BF is not istalled under EA games and Battlefield. here is a path to find it:
regedit, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENT VERSION/UNINSTALL/: there is a set of numbers in here listed usualy as (04858915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7D something something blah blah.. cant ge tthe rest as i copied it and ran out of space. delete it. no need to restart. now install. Took me long few hours of banging it out on internet to find this. Come to find out, someoen actualy called EA and they gave them this info. hope it saves you time. NOTE* i could have gotten the path incorrect but if you click on the numbers under un-install, it will show you BF2 info.. or atleast it did in my reg. BE WARNED- if you make a mistake editing your reg and you did not back it up.. you may have to do a new install!
