games(starcraft guildwars) will not connect

Hey there,

So im having a major issues with my computer. I am trying to instal 2 games guild wars and starcraft 2 both require to connect to the internet from install. My fire wall is off, my router does not have one, I am connected to the internet, I am the admin. My anti virus is kaspersky I'm not sure if it has a fire wall setting this might be the problem but I do not think it is. Let me know what you think :D

Check you have the required space and make sure your computer is up to date before downloading them, I recently downloaded SC 2 and had no problem, my compter is quite new but not top of the range, I have never used kaspersky so it may acctualy be that, I dont know if it is your internet that is the problem or if its the computer.

May I ask what acctualy happens when you try and download them, do they download and then give you an error message when you Log in or open it or does it just not let you start the download at all ?

Hi the noob,
Welcome to the forum.

You will find that Kaspersky DOES normally have the firewall in place.
If you go to the Kaseprsky link below, there is exceptionally good instruction on how to do the settings for security program, including firewall.

If you didn't pay for Kaspersky you may want to try MSE which is a free AV.
Seems to have less issues for gamer's and still provide good protection. IMHO

So I guess you disabled the firewall, and it will not let you download still?
Did you have the firewall disabled to send this post?
Some other details of your computer would be good, the more info we have on specs the easier, sometimes it is to come up with an answer.
Model no., make, ram, graphics card, any other you know.

Have you other games downloaded?
Do other games play ok, just problem with this one?

Hey, I would try checking your firewall once again, try saving it in a different place, check your internet is private because some public connections wont allow downloads of online games, if all of these dont work, blizzard services are the best bet :)
