With all the negative things floating around regarding Vista, I thought I'd trying and bring a little light into this blu-tacked togehter OS. Has anyone tried Half Life 2 on 64-bit yet?

Basically.. it's amazing. You can tell from the beginning where the x64 enhancements kick in. If you have everything set to high, you'll notice manhacks and other small objects have far more detailed textures, Echo's have been added when characters are in canyons and tunnels, also, a few extra dialog's have been added characters (even the odd joke or two!). As I play though it again, I'm noticing there are many improvements over the 32-bit game, and I'm quite sure most of it is thanks to x64. (Especially since '64-bit mode enabled' appears in the top left of the HL2 menu).

The same can be said for Far Cry. Even with the Windows XP x64 Edition, and AMD64 patch, there wasn't a massive ammount of improvements that could be seen by the naked eye, except for the odd draw distance improvement. But now there are far more ambient effects, (more bugs), fish and even killer birds that seem to head for the player.

Anyone else noticed changes in games? Weather it be x64 or DirectX 10? I've heard CoH (Company of Heroes) has some major improvements thanks to DirectX 10 but I really couldn't notice anything after installing it on Vista, and I've not even got round to Supreme Commander yet :P
