Who has a fully patched Vista Ultimate x64 (NO SP1)

I would need a list of the hotfixes installed if possible.

To get it go to

Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates
Then just sort as list and post a screenshot please :party:

can i ask, why is this a concern?

Its my understanding SP1 includes all the current hotfixes as well as the unreleased fixes you had to email MS for. In addition SP1 fixes are all designed and tested for interoperability at a level the initial hotfixes are not.

With SP1 widely available why would you run the individual hotfixes?

type in "Vista 64" to see the x64 Vista updates which have been released. The only ones you wont see are the ones you need to email MS for and those are not ready for release as they have not been fully tested.

Just curious, maybe i am missing something here...

Vista Ultimate won't install for me without having SP1 slipstreamed into the DVD. I don't know why, but we made extensive testing over the last couple of weeks really. Ultimate always returns a bluescreen after the last reboot.

SP1 patched DVD doesn't have the problem. However, since a SP uninstallation has to be done prior the installation of the RTM version I am simply unable to do this as a slipstreamed SP cannot be installed.

I will make some tests over the weekend to install SP1 and then upgrade and see if I can uninstall it that way (and if it installs anyway).

So I am HOPING when I slipstream the hotfixes I am able to install it .. I just wish I would be able to find out what is causing the bluescreen. Even if I switch reboots off after a stop error, it still just shows for a split second. I even recorded the bluescreen with a camera and hoped I can catch the frame with the error - but its just too quick ...

gotcha, makes sense...

In reference to your BSOD at boot during initial install, i might recommend you clear your MB CMOS prior to the re-install. As you know often at this point its a driver/hardware issue, clearing the CMOS will make the MB reallocate IRQ which should help with any potential conflict. Like you i have had some odd errors on different machines during installs (all of em, 2000, xp, s2k3, vista).
