In Vista, Im tring to put info in the "file discription" line visable in the detail view of a file but I cant access the line and I cant seem to figure how to get info in it. I've tried all the obvious routes but nothing works I think it might be a security or admin' settings issue but nothing I do with that works. Im sure there's a way but I cant get it. Any info would be great!! Thanks.

For instructions on how to do this, click on the start orb and select 'Help and Support'. In the 'Search Help' box, enter the following: "Add tags or other properties to a file" and then click the magnifying glass symbol. This will display a list of the best results for your query. Select the first result and scroll down the text that appears. Take note of the section under the heading 'Note'. Depending on the type of file, you may or may not be able to do what you want anyway. There are further sub-sections at the end - these are in blue text. Click the appropriate heading to expand it. The heading that I think is most appropriate for your current needs is "To add or modify properties that don't appear in the Details pane", although it would also be advisable to read the others as well.

Well, I discovered that the reason I cant edite the files I want is because it seems you can only do that to MS type files like .jpeg and .wmv I was tring to edit .mp4 files which wouldnt allow me to but if i convert the file to a windows format, then it works. Even though I didnt get the out come I wanted I did resolve the issue. So, thanks for your input.
