Been having intermittent problems with my Vista machine. Various crashes and BSODs, and I haven't been able to fix the problem.

running an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, with 4GB ram and an NVidia 8800GT.
Motherboard is an ECS NF650iSLIT-A. OS is Vista Home Premium x64

BSODs I get are :

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

as well as access violation CTDs and screen freezups.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

hi and welcome,

most likely your problem is either memory or power supply -

try removing 2GB and see if that helps and tell us about your PSU

good luck!

That's a memory issue. We have a computer at work that some dolt tried to add the wrong kind of RAM to and we have these errors constantly. It maybe a simple thing as reseating the cards.

thanks for the info, I pulled one of my 2g sticks, and reseated the other, we'll see how it goes.

power supply is 500w p4 atx 2.0 sca (from the invoice) not really sure what all that means, but 500w should be enough power for me.

update:
looks like it worked, all my crashes seem to have stopped after I pulled one of the sticks. Going to switch them out and see if it still works. Then, if there are no problems, I'll put them both back in and see what happens.

Thank you for the help, this was driving me nuts.
