Class not registered error with Windows Explorer

Hi,

I've been having trouble running Windows Explorer and any related programs (e.g. Control Panel). Whenever I try to run Windows Explorer, for example, a popup containing the following comes up:

errorpc4.jpg

And for Control Panel:

Can anyone help? I've tried using a registry cleaner, and the command regsvr32 ExplorerFrame.dll didn't work. I don't have any System Restore points, and I found a Vista repair disc image online and burned it to DVD (which won't Autorun, so I can't repair install), but ultimately I think that the problem is centered around one file. I guess what I'm asking for is if anyone had a replacement for ExplorerFrame.dll? It would be great if someone did, and thanks in advance!

P.S. If it helps, I remember using SoundTaxi (sound file converter) and installing drivers for my video camera the day Windows Explorer stopped working. The error is probably related to SoundTaxi, because I remember my Windows Aero theme being affected. And I'm using Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

I'm running Vista 64, otherwise I'd try to upload that dll file you may need. Have you tried system restore?

Thanks for the reply! I don't have any system restore points, although I am trying to get this repair installation CD working.

No problem, glad you got it sorted. Maybe uninstall that dodgy program too 'SoundTaxi'...

It should be the ExplorerFrame.dll file. Hope that helps!

Makes sense, bit of a silly question really.Unfortunately cant download that file. Receiving a message that says "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the set associations control panel", but cant open control panel. Not sure what to do. Might take it to a professional. Thanks for your help.
