HI,

I have genuine windows vista home premium in my Laptop. However it takes nearly five minutes to come up to full performance after i logged(Stucks for 3 minuts after loading the Desktop and takes another 2 minutes to come to full performance). It takes so many time to load the Windows Side bar so i removed it from the start up.

But for my wonder now it starts to load even slower. This problem never occured as soon as i created a new user account and logged from that. However after some days it becomes slow again. Any suggestions...?

My Laptop is HPdv5-1104TX. 3 GB Ram and 512MB Nvidia 9600 GTZ. Processor is 2.24 GHz(Centrino Processor)

Perhaps its all of the programs you have set to run at startup / login? Did you disable any or is this a brand new laptop and you haven't done anything?

yes this is brand new laptop.I haven't done anything and it's just 1 week old mate..

Hmm, seeing as it's an HP (I happen to have an dv6000 which is out for repairs for now) I have a feeling you had the same thing as me and just had way too much start up programs.

The above link is a tutorial to disable startup programs using Windows Defender or msconfig. Either method is fine, although I prefer msconfig. Just make sure that when diabling startup processes, you know what they do and not turn them off blindly. If you're unsure, leave it on and do some research.

Oh, and just so you know, my dv6000's reboot time was around 250+ seconds before any sort of changing, which brings it to over 4 minutes.

hi all,

sorry it's been some time i contributed to the forum.i was super busy with my exams.I tried with the startup items and still no luck to be honest.it looks like little bit fast, but i know a friend who has the same configurations as mine and it loads pretty faster than mine.

Today he gave me me a registry cleaner called JV Powertools 2009 and he was very impressed with it. So i am going to try that too.may be it has optimized the lap by deleting un-necessary installations. I'll let you know guys the result.

Hi all,

sorry for the late reply on the thread.I was out from home.Anyway i am very happy to tell that it worked.JV Powertools did it for me.I ran a scan and found 3 errors and i fixed them using their tools.

Then i restarted the laptop and now it loads very fast.(nearly about 30 secs). I think JV Powertools has eliminated the unwanted registry files which effects the start up.Its been some time i have used it and so far laptop works super fine.No erros or application conflicts like other registry cleaners.Love it..!

Thanks for all of you guys helps and really appreciate it.
