5 min clock problem with Vista/Acer

Hi all,

I have done some searching in the forum threads before opening a new one, but I couldn`t find solution.

SO here is my problem on a Vista Business 32 bit machine: I`m not able to change the time - every time I restart the laptop the clock is set automatically around 5 minutes back. I have set the correct time zone, I`m not using automatically adjustment for daylight saving, I have tried setting the correct time in the BIOS and then after the OS was loaded I had again the wrong time - 5 min back. When I set the time it is OK provided don`t restart it. The behaviour is the same no matter if it is plugged or not or network is connected or not. I find this very annoying.

The Laptop is ACER Travelmate 6292.

Please can anybody help me on this. I would really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

Hi again,

little correction after testing again: PC is part of domain and it gets the five minute difference after plugging the network.
I guess admins should be involved to correct this or is there a way I could succeed, my Internet time tab is missing..

Thanks!

Hi radostinp and welcome to Vista Forums

It does look as though the problem is down to your system administrator(s) failing to ensure that the time is correctly set on the domain. You need to ask them to correct the anomoly and remind them that it is very important to have this corrected because it could provide a loophole should the need arise that your company needs to make a legal claim against anyone, such as your suppliers, for instance.
