Hey guys and gals,

Up until yesterday my backup HDD was always present on my desktop. Today for some reason I can not seem to see it at all. I have the "sound" that it is connected but will not load on the desktop. If any of you have an or tips on what to do to fix this issue I would appreciate it. Thanks

Have you tried restarting the system since finding the shortcut missing or looking in the Disk Management tool to see if it is shown there?

If the drive still has the original Fat32 volume and you didn't reformat to NTFS you may need to go to the support site for the software replacement usually in zip file which you simply unpack onto the external drive. But desktop shortcuts to external drives are fragile to begin with.
