Hey everyone I just upgraded my RAM to some really great corsair high performance ram. I have 32bit vista, I put 4GB in just for the heck of it and it showed up as 4GB installed in my System Properties, I think I heard microsoft did this so users would stop complaining about the ram not being recognized, is this true or does my system really recognize it?

Yes, it's true. As of SP1, the number being reported is the "installed" RAM, which is 4.0GB, and not the amount left for the OS after hardware MMIO takes its chunk, which is generally somewhere between 3.0 and 3.75GB on most machines. If you run WINVER you should see the "real" number.

Ah, thank you very much. About 3.7GB which isn't bad. But luckily I have a 64-bit copy of vista standing by ;)
